Went to Wardrobe 2006 Part 2 - "Living Colour" last friday with yeo, nicola and some of their frens.
bu yao mei tian fan wo lar!
"Wardrobe the Series" is actually an annual project developed by Zouk since 1999 to help nurture Singapore's new wave fashion designers & to give them a platform to showcase their ideology and new retailing labels, to an appreciative audience and members of the industry.
yeo's mum made them. nice.
basically its coz yeo's mother help make one of the designer's clothings so they got free tix in.
Anyway the show featured labels like Nicholas & Generation Next. Through these 2 brands, we will see that colour (or without one) can change the way we look at things; the way we live even.
As summer comes to a close, these designers bring us a plethora of patterns and prints (overprints too) to heral the new season. Layers of luxurious fabrics also add depth and texture to simple looks; giving heightened drama and personality.
First and foremost the show kicked start with Generation Next.
will u wear tis out?
As underground band of avant-garde fashion designers have come together to "save the world”. Their research team thoroughly works on projects with others “invited” to sit in that particular project’s panel so that their minds will never be biased. Through this process they collaborate and differentiate.
tis vampire guy right in front is balding, i swear.
For wardrobe, their collection is a study on The Colour Of Black. Whilst black is technically not even really a colour, the team interprets how flamboyant, daring or even quietly stunning black can be- looks normally seen with colours.
black is the new black! hmm. wad am i talkin abt. hah
You will see their own interpretations differ- from exploring ambiguity to the quirkiness of the number 11, etc… And with an injection of white, how does black stand?
Personally i think the clothings are quite nice. esp those yeo's mom made.
i really like tis two alot.
but some of the models really cmi.
wad can we expect from spore modellin industry?

Nicholas by Multi award-winning designer Nicholas Wong.
winning designer jiu shi winning designer.
Since his much-celebrated debut in the local fashion scene in '2000, Nicholas has grown from strength to strength. His modest beginnings - trained unexpectedly in mechanical and electrical drafting as well as in graphic and interior designing - have now paved the way to success leading up to 3 of his own lines, retailing in his own boutique as well as in major department store. His overseas stints with various international fashion brands have also aided him in fine-tuning his personal style...
This series by Nicholas is simply gorgeous.
His label, Nicholas, was launched in April 2004. Nicholas used to design for Miss Selfridge’s and Top Shop in London before launching his own label. He made his debut at the 2004 Singapore Fashion Festival and has also won a Mercedes-Benz Asia Fashion award!! His signature look is preppy style with a bit of a twist, and his fabrics are vintage-inspired.
Peircean model!!
That night Nicholas showcased his "LITTLE ELLA DEAR" AUTUMN/WINTER 2006. We witness the girlish exploits of Ella as she discovers that "old can be new" - The label Nicholas brings us back to a time when dressing up was a well-loves ritual.
Preppy style with a twist.
The collection is a marriage of old-world charm and modern pop art; with a touch of the eclectic and whimsical. Soft chiffon is contrasted with textured upholstery and vintage fabric, whilst retro buttons and corsages are cleverly used as accents.
Only can make it male model for that night. 8pacs CAN!!
Hmm. I like the way he bring out those material and his combination of materials and style. Nice.
